Kyrgyzstan has entered the top 5 countries in the world by the number of films produced

In the context of the rapid growth of the national cinema, the issue of updating cinemas in the regions is becoming extremely relevant. This was reported by Marat Tagaev, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.

According to the deputy minister, Kyrgyzstan is demonstrating outstanding results on the international stage. The country produces between 80 and 100 films annually.

"Recent global rankings show that Kyrgyzstan is among the top five countries with the highest number of films per capita," emphasized Marat Tagaev.
Moreover, Tagaev noted that there are currently 37 cinemas operating in the republic. In 2024, important steps will be taken in the country to optimize them: 20 of these will be leased to private investors to enhance their operational efficiency.

There are still 10 cinemas remaining under the balance of the Cinematography Department, located in various regions. The agency is ready to transfer them to private companies through open auctions.
