In Bishkek, there is constant monitoring of prices for essential food products, including beef and lamb, as reported by the press service of the city administration.

This initiative is being implemented in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic dated August 7, 2025, No. 140, which introduces temporary state regulation of prices for meat products (beef and lamb, excluding boneless meat).

The district administrations of Sverdlovsk, Pervomaisky, Lenin, and Oktyabrsky districts are involved in this process, working together with representatives from the antimonopoly service, veterinary service, and tax authorities to regularly conduct raids and monitoring at local markets and trading points.

Monitoring is carried out at markets such as the "Osh Bazaar" shopping center, "Orto-Sai," "Alamedin," "Dordoy," "Aziz," as well as in retail chains "Market," "Globus," "Asia," and other trading points.

As part of the monitoring, explanatory talks are held with entrepreneurs and sellers about the unacceptability of unjustified price increases and the importance of adhering to maximum retail prices. Special attention is given to the maximum price for beef and lamb, which should not exceed 680 soms per kilogram.

Possibilities for expanding the trade of meat products at affordable prices are also being considered, including the allocation of trading spaces without intermediaries and the opening of additional trading points.

As of January 14, 2026, wholesale meat trading at the Osh market will cease, and a new meat pavilion "Chüygün," which fully complies with sanitary and veterinary standards, has been launched in the territory of the livestock market "Altyn-Taka." Currently, wholesale meat sales are conducted exclusively in this pavilion.

Retail meat sales are also available in the same area at the "Taza Adal Et" pavilion, where local residents can purchase quality and safe meat products.

At present, wholesale meat prices are as follows: lamb - 640–680 soms, beef - 640–680 soms, horse meat - 540–560 soms, while retail prices start from 660 soms.

It is worth noting that raids and price monitoring are conducted on a regular basis.
