The capital continues to monitor prices for meat products and other essential goods, as reported by the Bishkek city administration.
As part of this initiative, the district administrations of Sverdlovsk, Pervomaisky, Lenin, and Oktyabrsky, together with representatives of various regulatory organizations, including the Antimonopoly Regulation Service and the veterinary service, periodically conduct monitoring and raids in the markets and retail outlets of the city.
Inspections cover places such as the "Osh Bazaar" shopping center, "Orto-Sai," "Alamedin," "Dordoy," "Aziz," as well as the chains "Market," "Globus," "Asia," and many others.
During the monitoring process, explanatory work is carried out with traders regarding the inadmissibility of unjustified price increases and the necessity of adhering to the established maximum retail prices. Special attention is paid to ensuring that the maximum price for beef and lamb does not exceed 680 soms per kilogram.
Additionally, measures are being considered to expand the trade of meat products at socially significant prices, including the allocation of trading spaces without intermediaries and the opening of new sales points.
The city administration also reminded that from January 14, 2026, wholesale meat trading at the Osh market will cease, and in this regard, a new meat pavilion "Chüygün" will start operating on the territory of the "Altyn-Taka" livestock market, which will meet all sanitary and veterinary requirements. Currently, wholesale meat trading is taking place in the "Chüygün" pavilion.
Retail meat sales are also conducted in the same area at the "Taza Adal Et" pavilion, where local residents can purchase safe and high-quality meat products.
At present, wholesale meat prices are at the level of: lamb — 640–680 soms, beef — 640–680 soms, horse meat — 540–560 soms, while retail prices start from 660 soms.
