In Bishkek, there is ongoing monitoring of prices for essential food products, including beef and lamb. This was reported by the press service of the city administration.
This monitoring is conducted in accordance with the directive from the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, dated August 7, 2025, concerning temporary state regulation of meat prices (including beef and lamb, excluding boneless meat).
The administrations of the Sverdlovsk, Pervomaisky, Leninsky, and Oktyabrsky districts, together with representatives of the antimonopoly service, veterinary, and tax authorities, regularly conduct raids and monitoring at markets and retail outlets in the city.

The checks cover markets such as "Osh Bazaars," "Orto-Sai," "Alamedin," "Dordoy," "Aziz," as well as retail chains "Market," "Globus," "Asia," and other establishments.
During the monitoring process, explanatory conversations are held with entrepreneurs and sellers about the inadmissibility of unjustified price increases and the necessity of adhering to maximum retail prices. Special attention is paid to establishing the maximum price for beef and lamb, which should not exceed 680 soms per kilogram.
Proposals are also being considered to expand the trade in meat products at socially acceptable prices, including the creation of trading places without intermediaries and the opening of additional sales points.
After the cessation of wholesale meat trading at the Osh market, a new meat pavilion "Chuygun" was opened on the territory of the livestock market "Altyn-Taka."
This pavilion is intended for wholesale meat sales and meets all sanitary and veterinary requirements.
Retail meat sales are conducted in the pavilion "Taza Adal Et," located on the same territory, where residents can purchase quality and safe products.

The current wholesale prices for meat are as follows:
- Lamb - from 640 to 680 soms;
- Beef - from 640 to 680 soms;
- Horse meat - from 540 to 560 soms.
Retail prices start from 660 soms. Monitoring and raids to check prices are conducted on a regular basis.
