In the capital, prices for meat are being monitored and regular raids are being conducted.
In Bishkek, the authorities are actively monitoring prices for socially important food products, primarily beef and lamb. This information was announced by representatives of the city municipality.
The price monitoring is carried out in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, which was issued on August 7, 2025, under number 140, concerning temporary state regulation of prices for meat (beef and lamb, excluding boneless meat).
The administrations of the Sverdlovsk, Pervomaisky, Lenin, and Oktyabrsky districts, together with the anti-monopoly service, veterinary service, and tax authorities, conduct regular raids and monitoring in markets and various retail outlets in the city.
The inspections cover markets such as "TRK Osh Bazaars," "Orto-Sai," "Alamedin," "Dordoy," "Aziz," as well as retail chains including Markety, Globus, and Asia.
During the monitoring, entrepreneurs are informed about the requirements regarding the prohibition of price increases without justification and compliance with the established maximum retail prices. Special attention is paid to controlling the maximum price of beef and lamb, which should not exceed 680 soms per kilogram.
At the same time, measures are being considered to increase meat trade at social prices, including providing trading spaces without intermediaries and opening additional retail points.
As of January 14, 2026, wholesale meat trading at the Osh market has been halted, and a new wholesale pavilion "Chuygun" has opened in the territory of the livestock market "Altyn-Taka," which meets all sanitary and veterinary requirements. Currently, wholesale meat trading is conducted there.
Retail sales continue at the pavilion "Taza Adal Et" in the same area, where residents can purchase quality and safe meat products.
All meat sales points from the Osh market have been relocated to the "Altyn-Taka" market. The pavilion "Chuygun" offers meat at both wholesale and retail prices.
Currently, wholesale prices are as follows: lamb - 640–680 soms, beef - 640–680 soms, horse meat - 540–560 soms. Retail prices start from 660 soms.
Regular raids and price monitoring continue.
