Will one of the streets in Osh be named after Bayaman Erkinbaev after the situation in A. Navoi Park?

A street named after Bayaman Erkinbaev, who has passed away, may appear in Osh. This was reported on January 10 by Mayor Jenishbek Toktorbaev during an inspection of the cleanup of A. Navoi Park from illegal constructions.

Jenishbek Toktorbaev noted that a year has passed since the family of B. Erkinbaev announced their intention to demolish the building called "Palvan-Saray" at their own expense, which is located on the park's territory.
“It has been exactly a year since Bayaman's sister reported this. They keep saying they will do it tomorrow or the day after. We need to meet with them and discuss. If they manage it — great, if not — we will demolish it ourselves and lease the land. Agreed? Last year we already cleared this area, but since then no one has taken care of it,” the mayor added.

According to him, the building occupies several plots of the park, and its demolition will free up a significant portion of the territory. In the event of demolition, the site will be completely cleared and included in the park.

"Palvan-Saray" was built about 30-35 years ago and was used for sporting events organized by Bayaman Erkinbaev. However, after 2005, it became abandoned.

Deputy of the III convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh, Bayaman Erkinbaev, was killed on September 21, 2005, in Bishkek, and his death was instantaneous.

Work on the demolition of illegal structures in A. Navoi Park began in August 2025. A total of 11 structures were planned for demolition, of which nine have already been removed, and work on the remaining ones is ongoing. Despite a court decision to transfer the land to municipal ownership, the buildings remained under the control of private owners, who continued to operate them, ignoring warnings.

The Municipal Property Management reported that the demolished buildings belonged to Omurbek Tekebaev, Cholpon Sultanbekova, and the late Bayaman Erkinbaev.

According to information, seven out of eleven structures are located within 50 meters of the water protection zone. The remaining four do not fall within the protected area.

“There were previous attempts to clear the water protection zone, but there was a lack of political will. Now the work is being carried out with the participation of the owners,” the agency added.
