The U.S. Will Ease Sanctions Against Venezuela for Oil Sales
In an interview with Reuters, Bessent commented: “Sanctions on oil sales will be lifted. This could happen as early as next week.”
He also reminded that Venezuelan assets worth 5 billion dollars remain locked. Scott Bessent plans to hold meetings next week with the leadership of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank to discuss the possibility of resuming cooperation with Venezuela. According to him, the frozen assets could be used to restore the country's economy.
