In his address to the heads of states - members of the EAEU, Tokayev emphasized that the union should actively develop economic relations with external partners. He noted that in 2025, agreements on free trade will be signed with Mongolia and Indonesia, as well as an economic partnership agreement with the United Arab Emirates.

Tokayev also pointed to the successful results achieved through the joint work of the member countries. "In the future, it makes sense to expand EAEU cooperation with countries of the Global South, Arab countries, Southeast Asia, and Africa, as well as with authoritative regional associations," he added.

The President of Kazakhstan stressed the need to eliminate administrative barriers within the EAEU. "All artificial restrictions that hinder trade and the development of specific sectors, as well as bans on the movement of citizens and traffic jams for freight transport at borders, should be removed. Customs regulation and other control measures should not serve as a tool for pressure on the governments of member countries," Tokayev stated.

Kazakhstan will assume the presidency in the bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union starting January 1, 2026.
