Kazakhstan Aims to Ensure Barrier-Free Trade in the EAEU by 2026
Tokayev noted the necessity of eliminating administrative barriers, stating that all artificial restrictions hindering trade and the development of specific sectors, including bans on the movement of citizens and delays in freight transport at borders, should remain in the past.
Customs and other state control measures, such as sanitary and veterinary inspections, should not be used to exert pressure on the governments of EAEU member states.
A number of documents aimed at creating a barrier-free trade environment have already been developed within the EAEU. There is a need for strict adherence to the commitments made and prevention of violations, which is the task of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
To more quickly identify potential barriers, it is proposed to integrate artificial intelligence technologies for monitoring legislative initiatives of the member states. This direction will help eliminate existing barriers within the Union, accelerate trade turnover, and enhance the competitiveness of the economies of EAEU countries, including Kyrgyzstan, where administrative restrictions and barriers at borders often negatively impact exports and imports.
