- The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, addressed the leaders of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union regarding the upcoming presidency of the country in the EAEU bodies, which will begin on January 1, 2026.

In his address, Tokayev emphasized that humanity has entered a new era, full of unique opportunities, but also faced with new challenges, including growing technological inequality.

Analysis shows that in recent years, global investments in artificial intelligence have exceeded one trillion dollars, and it is expected that the contribution of AI to the global economy could surpass ten trillion dollars in the coming decades.

“We must use new technologies for the well-being of our peoples and make them an important element of Eurasian economic integration,” the president noted.

He also added that AI technologies are already helping to forecast commodity flows and allow for accurate assessments of the impact of customs duties and trade agreements on the economic development of countries.

“Kazakhstan sets a strategic goal to become a fully digital country. Initiatives such as the Alem.ai Center in Astana and the CryptoCity pilot zone in Alatau confirm our readiness to develop a digital ecosystem,” he emphasized.

The president proposed to sign a Joint Statement on the responsible development of artificial intelligence within the EAEU during the Eurasian Economic Forum, which will take place in 2026 in Astana.
