Tokaev proposed for the EAEU to become the leading logistics hub of the continent

- In his speech, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, outlined a secondary but important direction for the country's chairmanship in the Eurasian Economic Union for 2026 — the development of the logistics sector and transforming the Union into a leading logistics hub on the continent.

According to him, "The Eurasian Economic Union represents a geopolitical bridge between the East and the West, as well as the North and the South. Transit routes pass through the territories of our states, and therefore we must strive for a common goal — to become the leading logistics hub on the continent," Tokayev noted.

To achieve this goal, the president believes that immediate measures must be taken to improve transport and logistics infrastructure, develop international transport corridors and multimodal transportation, as well as establish cooperation between major logistics companies of the EAEU and third countries.

Tokayev also emphasized that the use of smart systems and big data will help create "seamless" logistics. Cargo should move across the territories of EAEU member states quickly and without delays, eliminating bureaucratic obstacles.

Kazakhstan is actively moving in this direction by launching the Smart Cargo pilot project and transitioning documentation to electronic format. The platform will be open for integration with the systems of partners from EAEU countries.

Within the framework of the EAEU, the creation of an integrated system for managing cargo flows based on artificial intelligence is planned.

This approach will reduce delivery times and financial costs, as well as increase the competitiveness of Eurasian transport corridors.

Tokayev called for the unification of efforts from all EAEU member countries to form a unified transport infrastructure integrated into global supply chains.
