Speed Control by Average Speed Monitoring Introduced on Roads in Kyrgyzstan
The number of recorded violations has reached 7,406
The republic is implementing average speed control on highways. This was reported the day before by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oktay Urmambetov during a meeting of the parliamentary committee.
According to him, special equipment, which is currently operating in test mode, has already recorded 7,406 cases of speeding violations.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs aims not only to identify isolated speed violations near cameras but also to monitor compliance with speed limits on certain sections of the road. This should also help reduce the number of traffic accidents.
As Urmambetov noted, about 70% of all accidents occur precisely due to speeding.
