Ibragimov proposed a number of measures to combat drivers under the influence of alcohol
During the discussion of the bill aimed at tightening responsibility for driving under the influence of alcohol, member of the Jogorku Kenesh Bолот Ибрагимов emphasized that simply increasing the length of punishments is not enough. He highlighted the need to also raise the amounts of fines.
In addition, Ибрагимов suggested that for repeat offenses, the periods of license suspension should be longer compared to the first instances. He also advocated for the possibility of assigning community service for offenders.
The deputy expressed the opinion that incentive payments for employees of the State Traffic Safety Department (ГУОБДД) who identify drivers under the influence should be increased from 10% to 20-30% of the imposed fines. According to him, this will help activate the detection of violators and reduce the level of corruption.
Ибрагимов is convinced that even in cases where an accident occurs without victims, but under the influence, it is necessary to initiate a criminal case.
