Photos from the meeting of the elders with Kamchybek Tashiev and the mayor of Osh have surfaced online
As mentioned earlier, 75 individuals appealed to Sadyr Japarov, calling for early presidential elections. Law enforcement agencies believe that some points from this appeal have caused significant public resonance and "aggravated the socio-political situation in the country." In connection with this, a criminal case has been initiated under part 1 of article 278 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, "Mass Riots." On February 11, the 75 signatories of the appeal were taken to the investigative service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Five of them were detained and placed in a pre-trial detention center. The investigation is ongoing.
