Bloggers and Activists
Aybek Ulanov On May 26, a tragedy occurred in the Uzgen district: a woman was killed after reuniting with her classmates. Soon after, her husband, suspected of the murder, was arrested. On the same day, Aybek Ulanov, a social media user, published a post that was deemed derogatory towards the deceased (this is the assertion of the police). Society, including deputy Dastan Bakeshev, perceived this as justifying the murderer.On May 31, Ulanov was summoned to the police, where he apologized to the victim's family, after which he was released.
However, Ulanov continued to publish "information that caused public discontent," and he was detained again. He spent five months in pre-trial detention. On September 26, the court found him guilty and imposed a fine of 100,000 soms. Ulanov was released directly from the courtroom.
Janara Osmonalieva On June 11, 2025, the III Bishkek Film Festival took place at the National Philharmonic. Among the guests was blogger and actress Janara Osmonalieva, who wore a semi-transparent black dress that sparked heated debates in society.
Shortly after, a clip from an old comedy video featuring her, where she used profanity, began circulating on social media. This led to her detention by the police.

The Lenin District Court found her guilty of "petty hooliganism" and sentenced her to three days in jail.
Beating at Sheraton Alina Zhakypova, known as Begemot Kyz, reported that she and her friends were beaten at the Sheraton hotel. She accused Voinov and his family of the attack. The incident occurred on June 30, but it became known only on July 3. After that, Jan Voinov and his brother-in-law were detained. Jan's mother, Assol Moldokmatova, commented on the incident, and social media erupted with calls to boycott the hotel. Human rights activists also called for holding the hotel administration accountable. Later, the court issued a ruling, and Alina Zhakypova lost her driving license for driving under the influence.
Nurlan Motuev On July 8, Nurlan Motuev was detained by police officers at the Sverdlovsk District Department of Internal Affairs for questioning regarding one of his social media videos. However, he began to behave aggressively and used profanity, which led to his arrest for five days for petty hooliganism.
Aybek Tenizbay
On December 12, Aybek Tenizbay was charged under the article on inciting interethnic hatred. The criminal case was initiated by an investigator from the GKNB, and he was placed in pre-trial detention while the investigation continues. The contents of his publications are not disclosed.
Arrests Following Meetings with Tashiev
Mayor of Tokmok On June 24, Kamchybek Tashiev held a meeting in Tokmok, resulting in the dismissal of Tokmok Mayor Maksat Nusuvaliev and the initiation of a criminal case for causing damage to the state. Speaking about the improvement of the park and the renovation of the sports school, the total amount of state procurement exceeded 61 million soms.As a result, Maksat Nusuvaliev and his subordinates received prison sentences ranging from 12 to 13 years for corrupt actions.
Mayor of Kara-Balta
After an inspection in Kara-Balta on June 30, Mayor Mirlan Jekshenov and several of his colleagues were detained.
The investigation suspects them of corruption related to the state procurement of 17 buses at inflated prices, causing damage to the budget of more than 17 million soms. Attempts to undermine the GKNB's anti-corruption actions were also revealed: contractors attempted to involve bloggers in creating provocative videos. The head of the "Plaza" company and three bloggers were placed in pre-trial detention.
Detention of More Than 20 People On September 24, the GKNB conducted a mass detention of officials suspected of corruption schemes at the Chaldivar - Avtodorozhny border.
The investigation established that "pushers" took from cargo owners between $1,500 and $2,000 for each truck to ensure unhindered passage through forged documents. Officials received rewards ranging from 5,000 to 7,000 soms.
In total, 24 people are involved in the case, including tax service employees, border guards, and representatives of the phytosanitary service.
The detentions occurred right during a meeting with Tashiev, with 21 people being led out of the hall.
Accusations of Links to Organized Crime Groups
Kanat IsaevFormer speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Kanat Isaev was declared wanted on April 29 by court order.
Previously, he was involved in a case concerning the financing of an organized crime group, for which he was arrested but later released under house arrest. Now Isaev is wanted in connection with another case.
Colonel of Police Talas Begaliev In May 2025, Talas Begaliev was detained by the GKNB, suspected of involvement in organized crime and extortion.
On June 10, he was taken into custody, but the preventive measure for one of his colleagues was changed to a written undertaking not to leave. The case has been sent to court, and Begaliev remains in pre-trial detention.
Brother of Kamchy Kolbaev In early June, the brother of Kamchy Kolbaev, Zholdoshbek, was detained along with three other men.

According to preliminary information, they are involved in a case related to land plots. Zholdoshbek is still in pre-trial detention; he was previously the director of the regional academy of the International Judo Federation (IJF) in Central Asia.
Kudret Taychubayev Kudret Taychubayev, who wished to become a deputy, faced rejection from the CEC due to his connections with Kamchy Asanbek and being listed in an organized crime group.
At the Central Election Commission meeting, he stated that his photo was taken in 2021 when he was approached with a complaint about extortion from an organized crime group. He harshly criticized the government, claiming they were also linked to organized crime.
Taychubayev was detained and sent to pre-trial detention, facing charges under the article "Creation and Participation in an Organized Crime Group."
Corruption Charges
Head of the Tax Service of Kyrgyzstan and His Deputy In December last year, Altynbek Abduvapov and his deputy Islambek Kydyrgichev were charged with corruption in a case involving excise stamps with damages amounting to 3.2 billion soms. Both are in pre-trial detention, and the investigation continues.
Father of Former President Sooronbay Jeenbekov — Aliyarbek Abzhaliev
On May 15, 2025, Aliyarbek Abzhaliev was arrested on corruption charges.

Former Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Kenjebek Bokoев On June 9, 2025, Kenjebek Bokeev was detained on suspicion of corruption but was released under house arrest a month later. The investigation continues.

Father of the Former Attorney General of Kyrgyzstan
The GKNB detained the former head of the capital construction department, J. A. J. He is the father of ex-attorney general Otkurbek Jamshitov.
Also detained were chief specialists and the head of the contracting organization in a case of embezzlement of budget funds during construction in the Osh region. The total damage amounted to 115 million soms.
Vice Mayors of Bishkek
Mirlan Amanturов In May 2025, Mirlan Amanturов was detained after a statement regarding the embezzlement of company property.He was placed in a temporary detention facility but soon released under a written undertaking not to leave.
Talaibek Baigaziev On June 27, Talaibek Baigaziev was detained on suspicion of extorting a bribe. He was caught while returning part of a bribe of $35,000 for lobbying the interests of a foreign company.

In February 2025, videos appeared on social media calling for the purchase of the cryptocurrency MCN Coin. On February 5, several suspects were detained, including founder I. S., who reported that the organizers do not intend to return $2.5 million.Also detained was the former head of the State Financial Oversight, Yurusan Toychubekov, who was later released. The case has been sent to court.
Former Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh
On July 31, former deputies Altynbek Junus uulu and Muratbek Malabaev were detained on charges of fraud. They forced the transfer of a controlling stake in a coal deposit development company through threats.
Sources claim that a criminal case has been initiated against them for fraud and raiding. However, on August 18, Altynbek Junus uulu was released. The case materials remain in court.
