The Foreign Minister reported how many Kyrgyz citizens are in the register of controlled persons in Russia.
The minister noted that a significant portion of migrants from Kyrgyzstan has already checked their data in the registry and managed to legalize their legal status, taking advantage of the additional time for this. However, some citizens still remain on the list and may face deportation.
"State and diplomatic structures have done everything possible to provide assistance, but we cannot accompany every citizen to the necessary authorities. Perhaps the Russian side will change its migration policy, considering the increased number of vacant jobs," added Jeenbek Kulubaev.
He also emphasized that the return of labor migrants from Kyrgyzstan would be beneficial for the country, as many projects require a workforce.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, as of January 2025, over 608,000 citizens of the republic are abroad, of which 376,907 are registered in Russia.
Jeenbek Kulubaev reminded that a 90/180-day stay regime is in effect in Russia, and Kyrgyz citizens need to monitor the duration of their stay in the country to comply with these requirements.
It is worth noting that from 2024 to 2025, migration legislation in Russia has been tightened. Since February 5, 2023, a registry of foreign citizens under migration control has been in operation, which entails significant restrictions on rights.
