As a result of an investigation conducted by the State Committee for National Security (SCNS), a case of extortion was uncovered involving a senior investigator of the criminal investigation department of the Talas region, known by the initials T.R.Z.
According to information provided by the state committee, T.R.Z. for an extended period of time, using his official position, pressured a citizen T.N.T., demanding money from him under the threat of criminal prosecution.
On February 21, 2026, during joint actions by SCNS and the Internal Intelligence Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, T.R.Z. was detained while receiving part of the extorted amount of 100,000 soms.
At present, the detainee is in the temporary detention facility (IVS) of the Talas city police department, and investigative actions are ongoing to identify other employees involved in this case.
