The State Committee for National Security detained an employee of the Jayil District Department of Internal Affairs.

On January 15, the press service of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) reported the detention of a police officer suspected of extorting a bribe.

As part of a criminal case initiated under Article 343 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic ("Extortion of a Bribe"), on January 13, police captain J.A.Z. from the Jayil district was detained while attempting to receive 150,000 soms. The operation was conducted jointly with the Internal Investigations Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the detainee was placed in a temporary detention facility.

According to the investigation, the police officer demanded a bribe to terminate the criminal case.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
