- In 2026, the replacement of 75.5 km of outdated aluminum power lines with a voltage of 10/0.4 kV in the Issyk-Kul region is planned, with new self-supporting insulated wires. This was reported by the press service of the Issyk-Kul Electric Networks Enterprise.

The replacement of the wires will affect several settlements and districts. In particular, the updates are planned in Karakol (8.6 km), Cholpon-Ata (19.7 km), Balakchy (5.6 km), Ton District (20 km), Ak-Suu District (6 km), Jeti-Oguz District (5.5 km), and Tyup District (7.7 km).

As part of the infrastructure upgrade, 1100 old wooden poles will be replaced with reinforced concrete ones. The work is set to begin in March 2026 and should be completed by November.

Additionally, in 2026, the construction of 27.1 km of new power transmission lines using SIP wires and the installation of 588 reinforced concrete poles are planned. Currently, 11 km of SIP lines have already been laid and 167 poles installed.

It is worth noting that in 2025, 90 km of SIP lines were laid in the Issyk-Kul region, and 1300 old wooden poles were replaced with new reinforced concrete ones. Most of the replaced poles were installed in the 1960s and 1970s and have long exceeded their service life, being in an emergency state.
