- In 2026, the replacement of 50 kilometers of old electrical wires with modern self-supporting insulated wires, which have high resistance to adverse weather conditions, will begin in the Issyk-Kul region. This information was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Energy.

As noted in the agency's statement, a complete upgrade of the overhead power line with a voltage of 110 kV on the Tamga–Przhevalsk route, which will be 80 km long, will also take place. This line is responsible for the electricity supply to the Jeti-Oguz and Ak-Suu districts, as well as the city of Karakol.

As part of the initiative to digitize the energy sector, by 2026, all residents of the Issyk-Kul region will receive "smart" electricity meters, which will significantly improve the accounting of electricity consumption.

The modernization of the Przhevalsk substation is also planned, during which a transformer with a capacity of 25 MVA will be replaced with a more powerful transformer rated at 40 MVA. This will increase the total installed capacity of the substation and improve the reliability of electricity supply in the region.

As part of the program to modernize the distribution networks in the region, 5 reclosers—automatic circuit breakers for networks with a voltage of 6–35 kV—will be installed, which will protect the lines from fault currents and automatically restore electricity supply in the event of temporary outages.

In addition, 14 transformer substations with a voltage of 6–10/0.4 kV will be installed in the Issyk-Kul region.
