In seven distribution electrical networks, old wooden poles will be replaced with modern reinforced concrete structures
In 2026, more than two thousand outdated wooden poles in the Issyk-Kul region are set to be replaced with new reinforced concrete ones, according to information provided by the Ministry of Energy.
The outdated poles, installed in the 1960s and 70s, have significantly exceeded their service life and are in an emergency condition.
The update will occur in the following distribution electrical networks (RES) in 2026:
- Ak-Suisky — 258 poles
- Karakoilsky — 260 poles
- Zheti-Oguzsky — 263 poles
- Tonsky — 543 poles
- Cholpon-Ata — 314 poles
- Tupsky — 229 poles
- Balykchy — 282 poles
The complete installation of all new reinforced concrete poles is planned to be finished by the end of November 2026.
Additionally, in 2025, more than 1500 reinforced concrete poles were installed in this region.
“The production of new poles will be carried out in our own workshop, which has been operating since 2017 at the Balykchy RES. Here, poles of the brands SV-110 and SV-95 are created, which meet all quality and reliability standards,” the official statement notes.
