On February 24, the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Marlen Mamataliyev, met with the Ambassador of Japan to Kyrgyzstan, Hirano Ryuichi. The press service of the parliament reported this event.

During the conversation, the prospects for deepening political, economic, and cultural-humanitarian ties between the two countries were discussed, as well as the importance of expanding inter-parliamentary relations.

Mamataliyev congratulated the ambassador on the successful conduct of parliamentary elections in Japan and expressed the Jogorku Kenesh's interest in continuing active interaction with the new composition of deputies from that country. He also noted the current state of partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Japan.

"The Japan International Cooperation Agency supports Kyrgyzstan in implementing significant infrastructure projects and other initiatives. We need to continue our joint work to elevate our relations to a new level. We have great potential for this," emphasized the speaker.

In addition, Mamataliyev recalled the successful visit of President Sadyr Japarov to Japan last year and highlighted the significance of the agreements reached during that trip. Discussing the strengthening of inter-parliamentary interaction, he noted the positive work in this direction and the contribution of friendly parliamentary groups.

Hirano Ryuichi, for his part, expressed gratitude for the kind wishes and proposed ideas, as well as congratulated Mamataliyev on his election as speaker.

The ambassador briefly outlined his future plans, noting that special attention would be paid to the development of inter-parliamentary relations.
