The Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh met with the Ambassador of Pakistan

The Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Marlen Mamataliyev, met with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Kyrgyzstan, Altamash Wazir Khan.
According to the press service of the parliament, the meeting discussed issues related to the development of political and economic relations between the two countries. Special attention was given to strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Mamataliyev congratulated Wazir Khan on the beginning of his diplomatic mission in Kyrgyzstan and shared his views on further expanding inter-state relations.

He noted that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to cooperation with Pakistan in various fields and mentioned the successful recent visit of President Sadyr Japarov to the Islamic Republic.
“There are many opportunities to deepen relations between our countries. We must actively work on developing cultural, humanitarian, and trade-economic ties. We are also ready to expand inter-parliamentary dialogue and facilitate the implementation of the agreements reached,” the speaker stated.
He added that it is important to organize bilateral working visits and establish connections at the level of friendship parliamentary groups.
The ambassador, in turn, congratulated Mamataliyev on his election as the speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh and expressed confidence that his experience will help elevate relations between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan to a new level.
He also emphasized that deepening inter-parliamentary dialogue is a relevant task and invited the speaker to visit Pakistan on an official visit in the near future.
“Kyrgyzstan represents a gateway to Central Asia for our businessmen, and we must seize this opportunity to improve trade relations,” he added.
