The Speaker of the State Duma will visit Germany in the near future.
The Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Marlen Mamataliyev, met with the Ambassador of Germany to Kyrgyzstan, Monika Lenhard.
During the first part of the conversation, the Speaker congratulated Lenhard on the beginning of her diplomatic mission and expressed hope that, with her extensive experience, she would be able to elevate the level of cooperation between the two countries.
Mamataliyev emphasized the importance of inter-parliamentary contacts for the development of bilateral relations.
"Germany has a rich history of parliamentarism, and it is especially important for us to exchange experiences in the field of legislation," he noted.
The Speaker also recalled a visit three years ago when members of the parliamentary friendship group "Germany - Central Asia" from the Bundestag visited Kyrgyzstan, which laid the groundwork for productive negotiations on deepening cooperation.
In this regard, he announced his intention to make an official visit to Germany in the near future.
"Regardless of the format of the meetings, we strive for mutual benefit. I am confident that during the official visit, negotiations aimed at strengthening Kyrgyz-German relations will be held," he added.
The Speaker also emphasized the need to develop economic and trade ties between the two countries.
"Last year, the fifth meeting of the Kyrgyz-German Business Council took place in Berlin, where 15 memorandums were signed and agreements were reached between entrepreneurs. We should continue to develop these ties and address issues in the field of trade and logistics. Kyrgyzstan is interested in strengthening its role as a transport hub in the region," he stressed.
Lenhard, for her part, congratulated Mamataliyev on his election as Speaker and expressed gratitude for the warm welcome.
She noted her readiness to provide comprehensive support in organizing his official visit and added that Germany is interested in cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in all areas, including strengthening inter-parliamentary interaction.
The Ambassador also expressed the opinion on the necessity of regular political consultations and expanding economic ties.
