Improving Conditions for Kyrgyz Migrants Discussed by the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh and the Ambassador of Russia
Today, February 23, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic, Sergey Vakunov, met with the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Marlen Mamataliyev. This information was provided by the press service of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the continuation of existing cooperation between the two states and exchanged views on a number of current issues.
Marlen Mamataliyev emphasized that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to strengthening partnerships with Russia. He noted: "The political dialogue and strategic cooperation between our countries are at a high level. We need to continue working on maintaining ties based on friendship and mutual trust, as well as actively developing inter-parliamentary relations."
The Speaker also reported on plans to visit Russia on an official visit in the near future. "This visit is significant for both inter-parliamentary dialogue and for deepening cooperation between the states. I am confident that the meeting will be successful, and we will be able to discuss important issues of bilateral relations," he added.
During the discussion, Marlen Mamataliyev proposed a number of measures to improve conditions for labor migrants from Kyrgyzstan and their families. He also emphasized the need for joint actions to legalize vehicles with Russian license plates in the country. "We must openly discuss all issues and find solutions through negotiations," noted the Speaker.
Sergey Vakunov, in turn, congratulated Marlen Mamataliyev on his appointment as Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh and wished him success in his activities. The Ambassador also confirmed his readiness to assist in organizing the upcoming official visit and highlighted the significance of the proposals made by Marlen Mamataliyev.
In the context of inter-parliamentary cooperation, the need to continue dialogue on international platforms and develop interaction at the level of relevant committees was discussed.
