On January 27, a meeting took place in the Jogorku Kenesh between the Speaker Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu and the Ambassador of Japan to Kyrgyzstan, Hiroshi Ryuichi. This information was provided by the parliament's press service.

The agenda included issues related to strengthening relations between Kyrgyzstan and Japan, including the expansion of inter-parliamentary ties.

Turgunbek uulu congratulated the new ambassador on the beginning of his work in the country, noting his rich diplomatic experience. He expressed confidence that Hiroshi Ryuichi's activities would make a significant contribution to the development of Kyrgyz-Japanese relations.

The Speaker also emphasized the close cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Japan, which began with the attainment of independence. He noted that the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) actively supports the implementation of important infrastructure projects and educational initiatives, allowing Kyrgyz officials to obtain master's and doctoral degrees in Japan. This, he said, gives many young people the opportunity to study abroad and apply the knowledge gained in their homeland.

Additionally, Turgunbek uulu mentioned the meeting of state leaders last year in the "Japan + Central Asia" format and expressed hope for the successful implementation of the agreements reached at this summit.

He also noted the positive dynamics in the development of inter-parliamentary ties, for which he thanked the friendship groups of deputies.

Hiroshi Ryuichi, for his part, thanked Turgunbek uulu for his warm words and constructive ideas, as well as congratulated him on his re-election as Speaker.

The ambassador briefly outlined his plans in his new position, emphasizing that one of his main tasks would be to promote the strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation.

The meeting also discussed issues of ratifying bilateral agreements and planning official visits between the parliaments of the two countries.
