About 35,000 citizens of Kyrgyzstan are at risk of deportation from Russia

About 35 thousand citizens of Kyrgyzstan are at risk of deportation from Russia

Minister Kulubaev added that migrants have been given additional time to legalize their status. However, despite the measures taken by the government, there remains a group of citizens who are still listed in the registry and may face deportation. At the same time, he noted that Russia, facing a labor shortage, may soften its migration policy.

The Foreign Minister also emphasized that the return of labor migrants to Kyrgyzstan is beneficial for the country, as a workforce is needed to carry out a number of projects. He reminded that the current stay regime in Russia is 90/180 days, which requires Kyrgyz migrants to comply with established norms.

According to new requirements that came into effect on February 5 of last year, Russia has tightened its migration laws. As of 2025, according to the ministry, more than 608 thousand citizens of Kyrgyzstan are outside the country, of which 376,907 are registered in the migration accounting in Russia.
