Kyrgyzstan Expands Parliamentary Ties with Key Partners
In 2025, the Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, held eight meetings, as reported by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Jeenbek Kulubaev, at a press conference summarizing the year. Of these meetings, two were official, and six were working. In connection with the upcoming early parliamentary elections, five meetings were postponed to 2026. Nevertheless, parliamentary diplomacy continued to develop, and over 40 visits by parliamentarians took place in Kyrgyzstan.
The minister noted that the main focus was on strengthening parliamentary ties and cooperation with key countries such as China, Russia, Central Asian states, Turkey, as well as international organizations, including the OSCE and TurkPA. According to him, this creates a solid foundation for the work of the new composition of the Jogorku Kenesh in 2026.
