"People are tired of tenders, it's time to abandon this concept," - speaker of the Parliament

At the plenary session of the parliament on January 14, 2026, the speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, noted that the population is tired of the constant emphasis on tenders in various sectors.
He emphasized that any construction—whether it be schools, kindergartens, or other facilities—always involves a tender.
“People are so exhausted by the word ‘tender’ that the president has instructed to address the prolonged processes. He intends to radically change the situation and eliminate the very concept of ‘tender,’” said the speaker.
Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu also reminded that there have been attempts in the past to change the name of this procedure, but, as practice shows, this did not lead to real changes.
“Everything should happen without tenders, even in the construction sector,” he added.
