This initiative is part of the Ministry of Energy's program for modernizing the energy sector. The branch of OJSC "NESC" — Batken Electric Networks Enterprise, through the high-voltage overhead lines service of 220/110/35 kV, intends to replace outdated insulators with modern glass ones:
- Kyzyl-Kiy section — 4,200 insulators
- Suluktu section — 1,572 insulators
- Batken section — 3,000 insulators
These works will be carried out in stages from March to November, in order to prepare the system for the autumn-winter season of 2026–2027. After the replacement of the insulators is completed, the technical parameters of the high-voltage lines will significantly improve, ensuring consumers with quality and stable electricity supply.
It is important to note that in 2025, 7,200 outdated insulators were replaced, and 7,513 new glass models were installed.

An insulator is a device on power lines that holds conductors on supports and prevents the leakage of electric current to the ground or between phases. It does not allow electricity to short-circuit to the support. Typically made from glass, ceramic, or composite materials. On 220/110/35 kV lines, as in Batken, insulators ensure the safe operation of high-voltage lines, preventing short circuits and accidents.
