On March 1, predominantly cloudy weather is expected across the country. During the night, snowfall is forecasted in some parts of the eastern aimags, including central and northern regions, while during the day, snow is expected in the northern areas of western aimags and in some places in the Gobi and eastern aimags. No snow is predicted in the remaining regions.
According to meteorological data, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on March 1, 2026, cloudy weather will prevail in the country. In the southern regions, the wind will blow from the southwest, while in other areas, it will come from the west at a speed of 7-12 meters per second. In the mountainous areas of Altai, the Arts-Bogd valleys, and the Gobi steppes, the wind may reach 14-16 meters per second, leading to the formation of dust storms.
It is forecasted that during the night, temperatures around Lake Uvs, the Darhad Basin, the upper reaches of the Zavkhan River, and the Tes Valley will fluctuate between -35 and -40°C.
Temperatures in the mountainous areas of Khangaï, Khuvsgul, Khentii, and Zavkhan will be -27 to -32°C, as well as in the headwaters of the Zag-Baidrag rivers and the valleys of the Eg, Uur, Orkhon, Selenge, Yeruu, Kharaa, Terelj, and Kherlen rivers. In the southern part of the Gobi region, temperatures are expected to be -7 to -12°C, in the foothills of the Altai Mountains -13 to -18°C, and in the foothills of the Khangaï Mountains, the Dariganga steppe, and areas with little snow -18 to -23°C. In other regions, temperatures may vary from -23 to -28°C.
Daytime temperatures around Lake Uvs and the Darhad Basin will be -24 to -29°C, in the upper reaches of the Zavkhan River and the Tes Valley -18 to -23°C.
In the mountainous areas of Khangaï, Khuvsgul, Khentii, and Zavkhan, temperatures will be between -12 and -17°C. In the southern part of the Gobi region, temperatures are expected to range from +3 to +8°C, in the foothills of the Altai Mountains and the northern part of the Gobi region +2 to -3°C, in the foothills of the Khangaï Mountains, the Dariganga steppe, and areas with little snow -3 to -8°C, and in other regions -8 to -13°C.
As for the capital Ulaanbaatar, cloudy weather is also predicted here, with light precipitation at night but no snow during the day. The wind will shift from southeast to northwest at a speed of 4-9 meters per second. At night, temperatures in the Yarmag-Songino area will be -25 to -27°C, in other places -18 to -20°C, and during the day, temperatures will fluctuate from -8 to -10°C.
