According to meteorological forecasts, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on February 17, 2026, variable cloudiness is expected in the eastern provinces of the country, with light snowfall and thunderstorms anticipated. In other parts of the region, it will be mostly sunny.
In the eastern part of the country, the wind will blow from the northwest at a speed of 6-11 meters per second, reaching 13-15 meters per second in some areas, while in other regions it will maintain a western or northwestern direction at a speed of 4-9 meters per second.
According to the forecast, in the area of Lake Uvs and the Darhad Basin, as well as in the upper reaches of the Zavkhan River and the Tes River Valley, the air temperature will range from -22 to -27°C. In the mountains of Mongol Altai, Khuvsgul, and Khangaï, as well as in the upper reaches of the Zag-Baidrag River, the temperature will be -14 to -19°C. In the Khentii Mountains and the valleys of the Orkhon, Selenge, Kharaa, Kherlen, and Khalkh rivers, temperatures are expected to be between -16 and -21°C.
The temperature in the southwestern part of the Gobi region will range from +4 to -1°C, while in the Dornod-Darganga steppe and in the valleys of the Tuul, Terelj, Kherlen, and Onon rivers, it will fluctuate from -3 to -8°C, whereas in other areas, the temperature will be from -8 to -13°C.
In Ulaanbaatar, variable cloudiness is also expected, but no precipitation is forecasted. The wind will be from the west at a speed of 3-8 meters per second, and the air temperature will fluctuate from -3 to -5°C, which is 3 degrees higher compared to the previous day.
