According to the latest data, most of the injured have been hospitalized in medical facilities in Córdoba. Currently, 73 people remain under medical observation, of which 24 are in critical condition, including four minors.

The accident occurred on the evening of January 18, when the Iryo train, traveling from Malaga to Madrid, derailed and fell onto the tracks, where it was struck by the Alvia train traveling at a high speed of 200 km/h. Among the deceased was the driver of the second train.

As a result of this tragedy, train services between Madrid and Andalusia have been suspended. The railway operator Renfe has offered passengers the option to change or cancel tickets affected by the service disruption for free.
