Two high-speed trains derailed in Spain

A tragedy occurred in the Spanish province of Córdoba when two high-speed trains derailed. The railway infrastructure operator Adif reported the incident on Sunday.
According to a report from RTVE, 21 people died as a result of the accident, and about a hundred were injured, 25 of whom are in serious condition.
As reported by the broadcasting company, the incident happened around 19:40 local time (21:40 Moscow time). The train, which was carrying 317 passengers, was traveling on the route "Malaga - Madrid" and derailed, hitting an adjacent track where another train was moving from Madrid to Huelva. This train also derailed.
"At least 21 people have died, and around 100 have been injured, including 25 with serious injuries, as a result of the derailment of two high-speed trains in the Adamus area," sources are quoted in the report.
Emergency services continue to work at the scene, and information about the injured is being clarified. The movement of high-speed trains between Madrid and Andalusia has also been suspended.
