Kyrgyzstan athletes won 3 medals on the first day of the ranking tournament in Albania

On the first day of the ranking tournament in wrestling, which is taking place in Albania, Kyrgyz athletes won three medals.

The tournament, which is the second in the 2026 ranking series, opened its doors on February 25 in Tirana.

On this day, competitions were held for six sets of medals, featuring eight wrestlers from Kyrgyzstan. Unfortunately, Bilol Sharip uulu could not compete due to an injury.

Ernazar Akmataliev won the gold medal in the 70 kg weight category, while his compatriot Zalkarbek Tabaldiev took bronze in the same weight category. Orozobek Toktomambetov also made a mark, earning silver in the 74 kg weight class, losing in the final to a wrestler from Iran.

Unfortunately, other participants such as Abdumalik Karachov (up to 57 kg), Bekzat Almaz uulu (up to 61 kg), Öskönbay Abdisamatov (up to 65 kg), Rustamzhan Kakharo (up to 70 kg), and Adilet Akmatbekov (up to 74 kg) were unable to win medals.
