The deputy proposed to revive the base of the legend of athletics, Jumanaazarov, in the Tong district.
During the meeting, deputy Bolot Sagynaev raised the issue of the sports base in the Ton district, associated with the name of the outstanding athlete Satymkul Jumanaazarov. He noted that this place is often visited by foreign athletes for training; however, there is a lack of suitable infrastructure for their accommodation and preparation.
Sagynaev also pointed out that the old base in this area still exists and has prepared tracks for training. It is located at an altitude of about 2,500 meters and, according to him, is the only such facility in Central Asia, which creates excellent conditions for the training process.
Additionally, the deputy reported that a plot of land had previously been allocated for an Olympic village in the village of Tosor and inquired about the progress of this project.
In response, Moldazhiyev noted that the relevant work is ongoing. He emphasized that analysis shows that Kyrgyzstan lacks its own sports infrastructure for organizing training camps, which forces athletes to go abroad. In this regard, Moldazhiyev added that plans are being considered to create a new base at Issyk-Kul, which will be located on the territory of the republican sports college.
The agency director also reported on the change of leadership in the Athletics Federation, where the new president is conducting an inventory of the existing sports infrastructure.
According to Moldazhiyev, athletics is considered one of the priority Olympic sports, and the issue of developing facilities in the Ton district will be discussed collectively to find optimal solutions.
