In Bishkek, the installation of over 40,700 kilometers of SIP cable is planned, as reported by the Ministry of Energy. This event is part of a phased modernization of the electrical networks, which is being carried out in preparation for the autumn-winter period of 2026-2027.

According to the information from the agency, this initiative aims to improve the resilience of the energy system and update the infrastructure. This should help reduce losses in the energy system, construct new hydroelectric power stations, and replace outdated equipment. Bishkek's electrical networks are actively engaged in modernization, which includes the installation and reconstruction of significant volumes of cables throughout 2026. The work will take place from March to November and will affect key sections of the capital's power grids.
