According to the information from the agency, this initiative aims to improve the resilience of the energy system and update the infrastructure. This should help reduce losses in the energy system, construct new hydroelectric power stations, and replace outdated equipment. Bishkek's electrical networks are actively engaged in modernization, which includes the installation and reconstruction of significant volumes of cables throughout 2026. The work will take place from March to November and will affect key sections of the capital's power grids.
The project includes the following activities:
- upgrading old power transmission lines;
- replacing outdated wires with modern insulated SIP;
- installing new supports and reinforcing existing structures;
- connecting new subscribers and developing networks in residential areas;
- reducing the load on existing lines;
- decreasing technological losses of electricity.
Particular attention is paid to the reliability of the power grids during the winter period. The use of SIP cable allows:
- preventing snow accumulation and ice formation;
- reducing the risk of short circuits;
- ensuring stable electricity supply even in challenging weather conditions.
The implementation of this project will lead to:
- improved quality and stability of electricity supply;
- significant reduction in accidents in the networks;
- decreased energy losses during transmission;
- ensuring reliable operation of the energy system in the winter period;
- creating conditions for connecting new consumers.
The comprehensive measures will significantly increase the capacity of the electrical networks, reduce the number of accidents and energy losses, ensuring more reliable and quality electricity supply during peak loads in autumn and winter.
Funding for these works will be carried out from the own funds of JSC "NESC".
