According to the agency's data, the implementation of meter installation is carried out as part of the reforms initiated by the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as in the process of automating the accounting and electricity transmission system.
The installation of "smart" meters will be carried out by the Batken electric grid enterprise.
The planned installation volumes by districts of the region are as follows:
• Kyzyl-Kyya Electric Networks — 10,150 units
• Kadamjay Electric Networks — 14,530 units
• Leilek Electric Networks — 14,105 units
• Suluktu Electric Networks — 15,193 units
As of today, the Batken electric grid enterprise has registered 130,668 subscribers, among which:
• 121,149 — residential subscribers,
• 9,519 — non-residential subscribers.
It should be noted that in 2024-2025, 62,085 smart meters were installed in the region. Batken district, the city of Batken, and the city of Kyzyl-Kiya are already fully equipped with modern metering devices.
This large-scale project is being implemented by JSC "NESC" with the support of the World Bank. The main goal is to modernize the country's energy sector, improve the digital management system, and ensure the efficient use of electricity.
