In 2026, it is planned to install 54,587 "smart" meters (automated commercial accounting systems) in the Batken region, reports the regional branch of electric stations.
The installation work will be carried out by the Batken Electric Networks Enterprise, and the installation volumes will be distributed across the districts as follows:
• Kyzyl-Kyiyin District Electric Networks — 10,150 units
• Kadamjai District Electric Networks — 14,530 units
• Leilek District Electric Networks — 14,105 units
• Suluktu District Electric Networks — 15,193 units.
Currently, there are 130,668 subscribers registered with the Batken Enterprise, among which:
• 121,149 — residential,
• 9,519 — non-residential subscribers.
From 2024 to 2025, 62,085 "smart" meters were installed in the region. The Batken district, the city of Batken, and the city of Kyzyl-Kiya are fully equipped with such accounting devices.
This project is being implemented by the OJSC "NESC" with the support of the World Bank and aims to modernize the country's energy sector, improve digital management systems, and ensure efficient use of electricity.
