A solar power plant is being built at Issyk-Kul for $1.4 billion
During his working visit to the Issyk-Kul region, the head of the Cabinet, Adylbek Kasymaliev, got acquainted with the implementation of the solar power plant project in the village of Kyzyl-Oruk in the Issyk-Kul district, as reported by the government press service.
The construction of the solar power plant "Issyk-Kul-1" started in September 2025.
This project anticipates a total installed capacity of 1,900 MW and an investment volume of 1.4 billion dollars. According to forecasts, the plant will generate 3.6 billion kWh of clean electricity per year.
The implementation of the project will take place in several stages:
– the first phase — 150 MW;
– the second phase — 450 MW;
– the third phase — 1,300 MW.
The completion of the entire solar power plant complex "Issyk-Kul-1" is scheduled for 2028.
