According to the press service of the State National Security Committee (GKNB), a corruption scheme related to the illegal enrollment of cadets in driving schools has been uncovered in the Batken region.

Currently, operational investigative actions are underway to identify other participants in this scheme, as well as to annul driver's licenses obtained through criminal means.

It is worth reminding that in November 2025, Kanbek Tumanbaev, the head of the president's office of Kyrgyzstan, announced plans to bring private driving schools under state control. Training for obtaining a category B driver's license will now last 10 months, while for category C it will be 12 months.

On January 29, a presidential decree was signed to suspend the activities of private driving schools.

As of February 10, enrollment in state driving schools has begun.
