He noted that there has been discontent among representatives of some driving schools regarding these changes in the driver training system.
“It is necessary to acknowledge that previously, in private driving schools, one could simply buy a driver's license. This has led to numerous traffic accidents. Recently, a person died as a result of a routine road conflict, highlighting the lack of basic driving culture and the negligent attitude of driving schools towards the training process. Chaos reigns on our roads. How many people lose their lives, how many become disabled?! Behind every accident are broken destinies, the suffering of parents, and the grief of children. Comparing the statistics of 2025 with those of 2024, we see an increase in the number of traffic accidents. This is not a coincidence, but a consequence of a system that has long been ignored,” Tumanbaev wrote.
He also added that some owners of private driving schools claim they were not informed about the need to obtain a license to operate.
“This is not true. We organized a meeting at ‘Yntymak Ordo’ and warned everyone about the upcoming reforms in their field. Therefore, the excuse of ‘we didn’t know’ is unacceptable. We all know how classes are conducted in private driving schools. Many trainees retake theoretical exams multiple times. Unfortunately, many drivers do not even know the basic traffic rules. We do not want to speak negatively about the instructors of driving schools, among whom there are true professionals,” he emphasized.
Tumanbaev stressed that the reform is not aimed at excluding anyone, but at cleansing the system in order to improve the quality of driver training.
“From now on, trainees will be trained exclusively in those driving schools that are subject to state control. Starting in mid-February, we will begin accepting applications for training under the new standards. We will create conditions for high-quality driver training. These measures may not be liked by those who have turned the process of obtaining driver's licenses into a business,” concluded Kanibek Tumanbaev.
