The head of the presidential administration commented on the reform of private driving schools
Kanybek Tumanbaev, head of the presidential administration, shared his thoughts on social media about the upcoming reforms concerning driver training and the operation of private driving schools.
He noted that he has already noticed dissatisfaction from some educational institutions regarding these changes.
“It is important to understand that previously, driver's licenses could be easily obtained from private driving schools. This contributed to an increase in the number of road traffic accidents. Recently, a person died as a result of a road conflict, which highlights the lack of basic driving culture. Educational institutions irresponsibly approach the training process. There is real chaos on the roads. How many people have already become victims? How many disabled individuals have appeared? Behind each accident are shattered lives, the suffering of parents, and the tears of children. Comparing the statistics of 2024 and 2025, the number of accidents has increased. This is not a coincidence, but a systemic problem that has long been ignored," he stated.
Tumanbaev also added that the leaders and owners of driving schools were informed in advance about the upcoming changes.
“We gathered everyone at 'Yntymak Ordo' and informed them about the forthcoming reforms. Therefore, excuses like 'we didn't know' cannot be accepted. Everyone is aware of the training methods in driving schools. Many students take the theoretical part of the exam several times. Many drivers do not even know the basic rules of the road. We do not want to speak negatively about the instructors; among them, there are those who are genuinely dedicated to their work. The reforms are aimed at improving the quality of driver training. Therefore, students will be trained in those driving schools that are under state control. Starting from mid-February, we will begin accepting applications. Of course, our steps will not be liked by those who have built their business on selling driver's licenses," the official concluded.
