
The State Committee for National Security reports on extortion of funds for expediting government procurements
An employee of the Municipal Enterprise "Bishkek City Transport," working at the Bishkek City Hall, was detained by the State Committee for National Security for receiving a bribe of 1 million soms.
The incident occurred on January 19, 2026, when he was caught red-handed. During the investigation, it was revealed that some employees of the government procurement department regularly demanded 10% of the total tender amount in exchange for no obstacles and expedited financial transfers for completed work.
As a result of the conducted operational investigative actions, the detainee, known by the initials "A.K.Sh.," was sent to the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security.
Currently, investigative activities are ongoing. Law enforcement agencies are analyzing the actions of municipal employees and identifying possible accomplices in this corruption scheme.
