Over the past year, more than 8,000 sporting events took place in the country
As reported by Kazybek Moldazhiyev, the director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, more than 40% of the population of Kyrgyzstan regularly participates in sports and physical activities. This statement was made at a parliamentary committee on science.
“In 2025, 8,366 sporting events were organized in our country, with more than 428,000 citizens and athletes participating,” Moldazhiyev noted.
Among the most popular sports are football, volleyball, athletics, and strength training. In addition, sports sections, outdoor workout areas, and fitness centers are actively developing in the country.
