Meteorologists predict a sharp deterioration in weather conditions in Kyrgyzstan on January 18-19. Snowfall is expected, with heavy snow in some areas, as well as fog and the accumulation of wet snow on trees and power lines. Snow drifts and icy conditions will develop on the roads, and snowdrifts may occur in mountainous regions, reports the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

According to specialists, winds in the west may strengthen to 15-20 meters per second in some areas.

From January 17 to 19, a noticeable drop in temperature is forecasted. In the Chui and Talas valleys, nighttime temperatures will drop to -9…-14°C, while daytime temperatures will range from -1…-6°C.

In the valley zone of the Osh, Jalal-Abad, and Batken regions, nighttime temperatures will be -2…-7°C, while daytime temperatures will fluctuate from -2 to +3°C. In the foothills, nighttime temperatures will reach -11…-16°C, and daytime temperatures will be -2…-7°C.

The Issyk-Kul region is expecting nighttime temperatures of -7…-12°C, and daytime temperatures of -4…+1°C.

In the agricultural zone of the Naryn region and in mountainous areas, nighttime temperatures may drop to -23…-28°C, while daytime temperatures will be -9…-14°C. In high-altitude areas, nighttime temperatures are expected to reach -26…-31°C, and daytime temperatures will be -9…-14°C. In the Suusamyr valley, nighttime temperatures may reach -30…-35°C, and daytime temperatures will be -11…-16°C.

Such severe weather conditions may affect the operation of communication, energy, and utility services. Intense precipitation may reduce visibility on the roads and create difficulties for road transport.
