From January 18 to 19, sharp changes in weather conditions are expected in Kyrgyzstan: snow is anticipated in some areas, while intense precipitation is expected in others. There is also a possibility of wet snow accumulating on trees and power lines, reports Kyrgyzhydromet.

In some places, fog will be observed. Snow drifts and icy conditions may occur on the roads, and in mountainous areas, snow drifts are expected. An intensification of the westerly wind is anticipated, with speeds reaching 15-20 m/s.

From January 17 to 19, a significant drop in temperature is expected in Kyrgyzstan. In the Chui and Talas valleys, nighttime temperatures may drop to -9…-14°C, while daytime temperatures will range from -1…-6°C. In the valley areas of Osh, Jalal-Abad, and Batken regions, nighttime temperatures will be between -2…-7°C, and during the day, from -2 to +3°C. In the foothills, nighttime temperatures are expected to be -11…-16°C, and during the day -2…-7°C. In the Issyk-Kul basin, nighttime temperatures will be -7…-12°C, and daytime temperatures will range from -4 to +1°C. In the Naryn region and mountainous areas, nighttime temperatures may drop to -23…-28°C, while during the day, they will be from -9 to -14°C. In high-altitude areas, nighttime temperatures are expected to range from -26 to -31°C, and during the day from -9 to -14°C. In the Suusamyr valley, nighttime temperatures may reach -30…-35°C, while daytime temperatures will be -11…-16°C.

Such adverse weather conditions may hinder the operations of energy, utility, and communication enterprises. During heavy precipitation, visibility on roads will deteriorate, leading to traffic issues.

Due to the expected precipitation from January 16 to 18, the risk of avalanches is forecasted, as well as the occurrence of snow drifts, snow accumulations, and icy conditions in the mountainous regions of Kyrgyzstan and on the following roads:

- Bishkek—Osh (121-138 km);

- Ala-Buka—Kanysh-Kiya (68-74 km, 86-101 km);

- Krasnaya Gorka—Ak-Tash (0-3 km);

- Myrza-Ake—Kara-Kulja—Alaykuu (65-110 km);

- Karakol—Enilchek (45-90 km);

- Balikchy—Kazaraman—Jalal-Abad (326-349 km).

When passing through avalanche-prone sections of the roads, it is recommended to maintain a safe distance of at least 500 meters between vehicles.
