The deputy is inquiring whether the relocation of the Bishkek CHPP is planned. The city hall responded that the issue of abandoning heating from the CHPP is being studied.
Aybek Junushaliev, the mayor of the capital, reported that new boilers had been put into operation in the city. This is part of a strategy for decentralizing the heating system aimed at reducing dependence on the CHPP.
“We are moving towards the decentralization of the CHPP heating system, and the mayor's office has selected eight locations for the installation of boilers. If this experience proves successful, we will have the opportunity to disconnect the CHPP from the heating system in the future,” noted Junushaliev.
The deputy requested information on the timelines for when results could be expected.
The mayor clarified that the results of the implementation of the new boilers could be summarized within 2-3 years. He added that at the end of this period, there may be no need for the modernization of underground heating networks, and it may also become possible to completely abandon the services of the CHPP.
