During the event, the parliamentarians were presented with a waste sorting line and were shown the operation of a new eco-technological plant designed for the processing of solid household waste and the generation of electricity.
According to previously announced data, the total investment in the project amounted to $95 million, and 12 hectares of land were allocated for the construction of the plant. The implementation of the project took 1.5 years, and the concession period is 35 years.
This plant will be able to process up to 365,000 tons of waste per year and generate electricity with a capacity of 30 MW. This will save 80,000 tons of coal and reduce CO₂ emissions by 100,000 tons. In the first phase of operation, it is planned to process 1,000 tons of waste per day, with the possibility of subsequent capacity increases and the creation of new jobs.
