The Foreign Ministry informed how Kyrgyz citizens can leave Iran due to the suspension of flights.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic has warned its citizens about the current situation in Iran and provided recommendations for leaving the country. Due to the suspension of flights by most international airlines, frequent changes in flight schedules are observed, making it difficult for Kyrgyz citizens to return home.
If air transport is not available, Kyrgyz citizens may consider leaving by land through neighboring countries. It is important to note that Kyrgyz citizens do not need to obtain a visa to enter Armenia and Turkey.
To enter Turkmenistan, it is necessary to contact the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in that country in advance for assistance in obtaining an entry permit and transit visa.
As of January 16, 2026, there is an opportunity to cross the border between Iran and Afghanistan and Iraq. Those who decide to travel to these countries are advised to apply for a visa in advance at the appropriate diplomatic missions.
The Ministry also advises considering alternative exit routes; however, it should be remembered that the land borders of Iran with Pakistan and Azerbaijan are currently closed.
Kyrgyz citizens in need of assistance in leaving Iran should send the necessary information to the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Iran or to the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic. It is important to provide the following information:
- surname, first name, patronymic, and contact details;
- a photograph of the passport page with personal data;
- the intended border crossing point.
Those citizens planning a trip to Iran in the near future are strongly advised to postpone their plans until full stability is restored in the region.
